New Collaboration with Blue Ventures

We are excited to announce a new partnership with the internationally marine conservation organization Blue Ventures. Following their recent visit to marinecultures.org, Blue Ventures identified us as a strong local partner with shared values and a deep understanding of the regional context. This recognition has laid the groundwork for a collaboration rooted in mutual trust – and the beginning of a joint journey with the potential for lasting impact.

Blue Ventures brings extensive experience in working with coastal populations to improve fisheries management and safeguard marine life. Their approach focuses on building local capacity and placing communities at the heart of ocean protection.

This fits well with our philosophy at marinecultures.org. Together, we aim to explore how proven community-based strategies can be adapted to the Zanzibar context — starting with pilot activities in the northeast.

This collaboration represents a chance to learn from each other, amplify our local initiatives, and take concrete steps toward long-term, locally driven marine conservation.
