Knowledge Exchange Visit on Mafia Island

In March Marinecultures manager and board had a great and very inspiring exchange visit to The Ropes Of Hope on Chole Island (Mafia). We appreciate Jean and Niki lots for showing us around among their impressive rope nurseries and restoration sites. The exchange was very insightful and had motivated us to reinvest in a new rope nursery as well here in Jambiani. RoH you do incredible work for the reefs in our region!

Beining on Mafia Island, we of course could not pass up the opportunity to snorkel with whale sharks. What an unforgettable experience! We swam alongside three different juveniles, booking through the sustainable tour operator Kitu Kiblu.
