There is a plan. Today, after months of back and for between the different parties the basement of the Octopus closure 2018 has been laid.
This time the community of Jambiani wants to try a partial closure of their fishing grounds for three months. Outside of the clear demarkated hunting Octopus will still allowed.
The closed area has a size of ~ 700ha what is around 25% of the entire fishing grounds. Actually this is the biggest area in Zanzibar for an Octopus closure. The fishers want to start already in September. A lot to do until then.
